Anker’s gigantic projector is now so big that you should just call it R2-D2

I have already been impressed enough by the Projector Soundcore Nebula X1 of Anker when I saw it in April. We all dream of having our own full theater in our homes, or at least something enough transportable so that we can hang a bed sheet in our backyard and claim that we are in the cinema. It was one of the first projectors with its own internal liquid cooling system to prevent it from overheating. Then came along the nebulous pro, a projector so large that it could be a Star Wars droid which is large enough to pack the famous actor R2-D2 Kenny Baker inside (RIP).

Anker has already shared some details for the Nebula X1 Pro, but the company shows it for the first time at IFA 2025 in Berlin. The system of projector and all-in-one bestial speakers is as tall as a 10 year old child and is delivered with his own retractable handle and two wheels to deploy it when it is time for the family evening. The device is really the configuration of the all-in-one projector, nobody really knew they wanted. He supports both Dolby Vision for HDR (for better contrast and brighter reflections) and Dolby Atmos sound through his pop-out wireless speakers.

The projector specifications are very similar to the existing nebula, that is to say that it is impressive. The X1 Pro nebula uses an U -shaped optical laser system which supports 4K resolution up to 3,500 Lumens Ansi. It will be very brilliant for dark rooms or night operation. To play films during the day, it can always offer quality colors and a deep contrast. The question of whether it will be better than a television at its high price will be up to each user. The projector has automatic dimensioning, concentration and obstacle avoidance features to reveal the image in the best possible frame.

The X1 Pro nebula hides four entirely wireless speakers that you can install around your living room or your backyard. The speaker configuration 7.1.4 includes four pop-out front and rear speakers connected to the main projector via 12-channel RF chips. The main body of the X1 Pro acts as the 8 -inch and 80W subwoofer. Each speaker should have an 8 -hour battery life – long enough to entertain your friends in a cinema marathon, although it will not last long enough to watch the three Rings Films (Extended editions, of course). If your space is more forced, you can use the two front speakers as a sound bar. The cover appears to reveal two microphones if you want to spend a karaoke night.

The bottom of the projector is filled with a 6.6 -foot retractable power cord. You will always need an extension nearby, especially if you bring this droid projector outside. There is a lot to consider with the spotlight, more than with televisions. This giant box promises the full cinema experience, and this is already enough. But he went on Kickstarter on September 22 for $ 4,000 and $ 5,000, according to Anker. The X1 Pro nebula can manage the screen sizes up to 300 inches. You can get a smaller and high quality QD TV from the more expensive brands like Samsung and always save almost $ 1,000. We want to see for ourselves if all the wireless speakers make it the droid that we are looking for.
