Antony praised the “best signature in the history of the real” story “after having dazzled the Europa League Display

Antony’s performance against Nottingham Forest explained another recall of the reasons why the sports director of Real Betis, Manu Fajardo, considers the Brazilian winger, perhaps “the most important signature” in the history of the club.
The 25 -year -old revitalized his career in Spain after a difficult period in Manchester United, where he was never close to his 95 million euros transfer costs in Ajax in 2022.
The additional modules could have brought the agreement to 100 million euros, but Antony fought for consistency and slipped by Erik Ten Hag plans to Old Trafford.
After initially joined Betis on loan in January, he impressed enough to obtain a permanent move from the deadline this summer, the final agreement of a value up to 25 million euros.
United inserted a clause granting them to 50% of any future sale.
Antony underlined his value at the opening of the Europa League on Wednesday, creating a goal and scoring another late to seal a 2-2 draw against Forest.
Addressing the AP news agency, the director of the Betis sportsman, Fajardo, said: “I am 100% sure that Antony is perhaps the most important signature in Betis’ history.
“Everything (about the signature) because the talent, the level of the player, the level of the club as a Manchester United – a large team, a big project, so I’m 100% sure that Antony is the best signature in the history of Betis.”
Antony was adopted by fans of Seville, where he became a central figure of Manuel Pellegrini’s team. His creativity and goals were crucial while Betis reached his very first European final last season, although they were beaten 4-1 by Chelsea in the conference league.
Stimulate Betis’ growth
Fajardo thinks that Antony’s arrival is symbolic of the rising stature of the club: “When players like Antony come to Betis, it is very, very important. This helps Betis to continue growing in Europe. Last season since Antony’s arrival, we were able to play in a European final.
“Antony, players like Gio (Lo Celso) and Isco, are very, very important because they are the example that Betis continues to grow, that we are a serious club in Europe and that players of higher level want to play in Betis.”
Despite its operation with financial limits well below those of the Premier League teams, Betis continues to combine clever recruitment with high -level signatures. The redevelopment of their Benito Villamarin stadium reflects the ambition behind the project.
Ahead
Although Betis cannot compete financially with English clubs, Fajardo insists on the passion and the ambition of players like Antony can help them challenge for European honors.
“For Betis, it is not easy to sign Premier League players, because the difference concerning the salary between the Premier League and Laliga is too large.
“But when a player like Antony, for example, wants to come to Betis, it’s easier.
“Antony only thought of playing in Betis, so when you have a negotiation with a big club in Manchester United, a club that paid a large number for Antony, it’s not easy. But the player wants to play Betis.”
