Apple to increase investment in the United States by US $ 100 billion over a period of 4 years

Apple CEO Tim Cook joined US President Donald Trump at the White House on Wednesday to announce a technology company commitment to increase his investment in American manufacturing of an additional $ 100 billion in the next four years.

“This is an important step towards the ultimate objective of ensuring that iPhones sold in the United States of America are also manufactured in America,” Trump said at the press conference. “Today’s announcement is one of the biggest commitments in what has become among the largest investment booms in the history of our country.”

As part of Apple’s announcement, investments will aim to bring more of its supply chain and advanced manufacturing in the United States as part of an initiative called the American manufacturing program – but this is not a full commitment to build its popular iPhone apparatus at the national level.

“This includes new and extended work with 10 companies across America. They produce components – including semiconductor fleas – which are used in Apple products sold worldwide, and we are grateful to the President for his support,” Cook said in a statement announcing the investment.

The new manufacturing partners include Corning, Coherent, Applied Materials, Texas Instruments and Broadcom, among others.

Apple had previously declared that he intended to invest $ 500 billion at the national level, a figure which it will now increase to $ 600 billion. In recent months, Trump has criticized the technological and cook company for efforts to move iPhone production to India to avoid the prices that its republican administration had planned for China.
