Visitors dug the first important chance when Alex Berenguer’s bass was intelligently saved by David Raya in the tenth minute.
A few moments later, Bukayo Saka tested Unai Simon at close range, but the sports guard was equal to the effort.
The Basque side continued to move forward, forcing Raya to another backup in the 16th minute of the firing of Inigo Ruiz de Galarreta.
Arsenal answered almost immediately, Viktor Gyokerres shooting a net of Simon after being found by Saka.

Two minutes later, the Gunners doubled their advantage. Gabriel Martinelli slipped a smart ball into Saka on the right side of the box, and the international in England folded his low shot in the most distant corner for 2-0.
Arsenal’s two fast goals firmly control them at halftime, but not without visitors still offering moments of threat. The Gunners, however, succeeded in the game well at the break.
Mikel Arteta sounded the changes at halftime, with Noni Madueke and Ben White by replacing Gabriel Martinelli and Riccardo Calafiori.
Athletic also revised, introducing fresh legs, including Maroan Sannadi and Mikel Vesga.
The second half started in the same way as the first, Arsenal dictating possession and trying to kill the game.
Jurrien Timber had a good luck in the 53rd minute, but headed at close range after a corner. On the hour, Gyokerres came a few centimeters from his second goal, shaking the post with a well -placed head of Madueke’s Cross.

The two managers used the lighting to run strongly, with several substitutions on 63 and 64 minutes.
For Arsenal, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Cristhian Mosquera entered the fray, while athletics has made a triple change. The game briefly lost its pace while the new players settled, but Arsenal’s control remained in place.
The persistence of the Gunners has borne fruit in the 82nd minute. A quick counterattack saw Saka burst before slipping a precise pass into Kai Havertz, who had replaced Gyokerers earlier.
The German kept his cool, slapming a strike of the left foot in the lower right corner to do it 3-0 and put the result beyond doubt.
