Arsenal striker Kai Havertz faces another spell on the sidelines after taking a knee injury.

On Wednesday, the 26 -year -old German international was absent from a training session open to the Emirates, with evaluations still underway.

The severity of the injury and a potential recovery calendar remain vague at this stage.

Arsenal already weighed options on the transfer market to strengthen their attack, the reverse of Havertz leaving Viktor Gyokerres as the only natural center-center available for Mikel Arteta.

Leandro Trossard, who recently signed a new agreement, previously replaced as an attacker, while Gabriel Jesus is still recovering from an LCA injury in January.

Havertz had just returned from a tear of the hamstrings suffered in February, which kept him on 18 games through the Premier League and the Champions League before presenting the last two games of the Arsenal League from last season.

On Sunday, he replaced Gyoker in the 1-0 victory of the opening against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Since he joined Chelsea in 2023, Havertz has made 88 appearances for Arsenal, scoring 29 goals.

The Arteta team returns to the action of Premier League at home against Leeds United on Saturday, but they may have to do it without one of their key attack options.
