At least 30 injured on Russian strike at the station, Zelensky says

At least 30 people were injured following a Russian drone strike on a station in northeast Ukraine, Ukrainian President Volodymy Zelensky said.

In an article on X, he said that preliminary reports indicated that the train staff and that passengers were on the site of the city of Shostka, in the Sumy region.

Emergency services are on the scene and have started to help people, he said, adding that information concerning the injured was still being created.

He also published a video showing a damaged train car on fire.

“The Russians could not ignore that they were targeting civilians. It is terrorism, that the world is not allowed to ignore,” wrote Zelensky on X.

“Every day, Russia takes on people’s lives. And the only force can stop them.”

The Ukrainian leader also called for the “action” of the West, saying: “We have heard resolute statements in Europe and America – and it is high time to transform them all into reality.”
