Bad bunny to play the show’s halftime

Porto Rican Bad Bunny’s pop star will be the head of the Super Bowl show next year in California.
The singer and rapper, who dominated the list of the most broadcast artists of Spotify in the past three of the past five years, will take his shots in less than 15 minutes the most watched night on American television in February.
In a declaration on the theme of football, he said: “What I feel goes beyond myself. It is for those who came before me and have run countless yards so that I can enter and mark a touch. It is for my people, my culture and our history.”
This comes after the star recently declared in an interview with ID magazine that he avoids the United States during his current world tour because of the concerns that immigration and customs’ application agents (ICE) could carry out raids on fans during her concerts.
He will now take a trip to the United States for the Super Bowl evening in Santa Clara on February 8.
He will follow in the footsteps of other interpreters in recent part-time, including Kendrick Lamar, Usher, Rihanna and The Weeknd.
Lamar was the music attraction at this year’s Super Bowl, which was watched by a record of 127 million viewers in the United States.
Go to his native Spaniard, Bad Bunny – whose real name is Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio – added in his declaration: “Ve y dile a tu abuela, that Seremos el Halftime Show del Super Bowl” – which roughly translates by: “Go tell your grandmother, we are going to be the show of the Super Bowl.”
Jay-Z, whose part-time Roc Nation company chooses the interpreter and produced his program, said what Bad Bunny had “did and continues to do for Porto Rico is really inspiring”.
“We are honored to have it on the largest scene in the world,” he added.
In 2022, Bad Bunny Un Verano Sin Ti (A Summer Without You), became the first album of all Spanish language to reach the number one in the United States.
The 31 -year -old was the third most broadcast artist in the world last year, behind Taylor Swift and The Weeknd.
He released his latest album, Debí Tirar Más Fotos (I should have taken more photos), earlier this year.
He won three Grammy Awards, and earlier this month was revealed as the main candidate for the Latin Grammy Awards of this year.
Earlier this month, he concluded a residence in his Puerto Rico Natal, which attracted more than 500,000 fans. Puerto Rico is an American territory but which has substantial internal empowerment.
Its tour should start in the Dominican Republic in November, before traveling through Central and South America, then in Australia, Japan and Europe, including two nights in Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London next summer.
“There were many reasons why I did not show up in the United States, and none of them was in hatred – I played it several times,” the star told ID about the absence of American dates.
“All (the shows) have succeeded. All were magnificent. I liked to connect with the Latinos who live in the United States.”
He continued: “But there was the problem of … The ice could be outside (my concerts). And that’s something we were talking about and very concerned.”
Its Super Bowl performance will take place at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, in the San Francisco Bay region.
Bad Bunny is also an actor, appearing in films like Bullet Train and the recent Happy Gilmore 2.
And he will come back to welcome Saturday Night Live for the second time next month.
