Former American president Bill Clinton and his wife Hillary are part of a range of high -level names to receive assignments from a congress committee to testify on the deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Republican James Comer, chairman of the chamber’s supervisory committee, published the assignments to the Clinton on Tuesday, as well as eight other people.

The Committee is looking for more information on the history of Epstein, after the administration of President Donald Trump has decided not to publish more federal files on the deceased financial.

This decision has aroused indignation among Trump supporters and some liberals, because many believe that the files include a “list of customers” of famous men affiliated with Epstein.

The assignments to appear threw a large net through the Directorate of the Ministry of Justice during the administrations of Obama, Trump and Biden, and the Committee also assigned the department itself for files related to Epstein.

Merrick Garland, who managed the department under former president Joe Biden, received a committee’s opinion, according to Comer.

The two attorney general during Trump’s first term, Jeff Sessions and William Barr, also made.

Former FBI directors James Comey and Robert Mueller will also be forced to testify before the Committee.

It is not immediately clear if the individuals appointed by Commer will finally appear before the committee and, if they do, if they will testify publicly.

Federal prosecutors charged Epstein of sexual trafficking in minors and other crimes in 2019, during the first Trump administration.

He died by suicide in prison later that year, which led to questions and rumors about his death when he was in detention.

This summer, the current US prosecutor Pam Bondi announced that the Ministry of Justice had examined its Epstein files and found no evidence of the long -term “list of customers”. She also said that evidence supported by suicide had died in detention and that the federal government would no longer denounce its files.

The announcements triggered the indignation among some in the base of Trump who thought that his administration was not to come on the materials linked to Epstein.

In a rare break with President Trump, several members of the House Republican Caucus called for a greater investigation into the case.

The assignments of Commer indicate that the chamber’s surveillance committee – which exerts important investigation powers – will continue to put pressure on the information of the Trump administration.
