Boeing’s defense workers decided to hit the aviation giant a new shot

More than three thousand Boeing Defense workers are expected to go on strike on Monday, in a new blow to the besieged aviation giant.

Boeing is struggling to turn around after a series of problems, including security problems and a prejudicial seven -week -old skating by passenger workers last year.
The planned disengagement is directed by a local branch of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) based in St Louis, where the Boeing Defense Manufacturing Center is located.
“The members spoke loud and clear, they deserve a contract that reflects their skills, their dedication and the critical role they play in the defense of our country,” said Tom Boelling, a senior union official, in a press release.
“We are on the shoulder with these families of workers while they are fighting for equity and respect for work.”
This would be the first strike in Boeing’s defense activities since 1996, when work stopped for more than three months.
IAM is one of the largest American unions, representing around 600,000 members in the aerospace, defense, naval and manufacturing industries.
Boeing has been struck by a series of crises in recent years, including two fatal accidents and a dramatic eruption halfway through one of his planes.
