Jarrod Bowen’s fine angled drive gave West Ham a draw in Everton in the first Nuno Espirito Santo match.

The Hammers were moderate in the first half and Everton exploited their Achilles heel in defense sets when Michael Keane headed with power.

West Ham conceded eight corners in the Premier League this season, as much as they did throughout 2024-25.

But visitors were well improved in the second half and rightly deserved a level when Bowen cut inside the right and broke a blow in front of Jordan Pickford.

The goal was set up by an unleashed race from the left back El Hadji Malick Diouf, who was brilliant in the second half, and was the first Everton conceded in the Premier League in their new house.

Bowen approached a second for the Hammers before the powerful James Garner forced Alpohnse Areola stop in a good backup.

Nuno – who replaced the Graham Potter dismissed on weekends – will have seen a lot in the second half to work while they will face Arsenal next weekend.
