Byd warren Buffett Berkshire Hathaway

A few hours after we reported last week for the first time that Berkshire had sold the rest of his participation in Byd Earlier this year, the manufacturer of Chinese electric vehicles confirmed the news and thanked Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger for having believed in the company.

The executive vice-president of byd, Stella Li, appearing on CNBC Europe Access to the Middle East This week, echoes the Weibo Post, saying that Buffett and Munger “loved” byd and its management, but “they are investors, so natural purchase and sale are their business, so it is not because they don’t like us”.
And Reuters quotes a special advisor by Byd, Alfredo Altavilla, saying that Buffett “achieved a profit of 20 times the capital he has invested. He did very well to do what he did”.
“We were extremely happy to have had a buffett (as an investor), but the fact that he monetized (British spelling) his post is exactly what Berkshire Hathaway does to live: buy, win and sell.”
Investors around the world were not as accepting, however.
BYD shares fell by more than 6% this week in Hong Kong.
The second Japanese game exceeds 10%
While Berkshire closes his Chinese investment, he continues to extend his assets to Japanese “commercial house” actions.
This week, Mitsui said in a press release that he was “informed” by Berkshire according to which “they now hold 10% or more of the voting rights in Mitsui due to an additional acquisition of our shares”.
However, he did not know the exact number of actions that Berkshire now has.
In a disclosure of March 17, Berkshire reporting a participation of 9.8% of 285,401,400 Mitsui shares. They would be assessed at around $ 7.3 billion at today’s fence.
At the end of last month, a Mitsui official said Reuters Berkshire increased his participation but refused to give a percentage.
At the same time, Mitsubishi said in a regulatory file that Berkshire’s participation increased to 10.2% against 9.7%.
We have not heard of the other three Japanese participations of Berkshire, Itochu,, MarubeniAnd SumitomoBut it would not be a surprise to learn that these issues also exceeded 10%.
