Cardi B was authorized by a Los Angeles jury after a security guard continued him for $ 24 million (18 million pounds sterling) in a nail attack.
Emani Ellis alleged that the American rapper had cut the cheek with a 3 -inch nail (7.5 cm) and spit on her outside an obstetrician office in 2018. The rapper was pregnant at the time, which was not a public knowledge.
The civil trial of Alhambra led to a series of viral moments while the rapper took a position and offered a colorful testimony on the incident and his fashion choices.
She told court that the guard followed him and filmed her on his phone and would not give her space or intimacy. Ms. Ellis, however, said that it had left her “traumatized”.
The jury only took an hour to clear the rapper winner of a Grammy from allegations of aggression, battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress as well as negligence and false imprisonment.
Addressing the journalists who followed the decision, Cardi B said: “I work all day and I work hard for my money, for my children, for the people I take care of. So you never think that you are going to continue me, and I’m just going to settle down.”
The rapper also called on his fans not to disturb Ms. Ellis or his family now that a judgment had been rendered.
The case revolved around the obstetrics’ meeting of Cardi B, when she was four months pregnant with her first child. The office closed for the day to protect its privacy, because its pregnancy was not publicly known.

Cardi B admitted to the court that she and Mrs. Ellis had a cry of blasphemies after being presented to the doctor’s appointment. She said it was very heated – but she denied having touched the guard or spitting him.
The rapper testified that day, saying in court that when she left an elevator, Ms. Ellis, who worked as a security guard in the building, someone’s meeting for a pregnancy was not yet public knowledge.
The interpreter, whose real name is Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, added that Ms. Ellis seemed to record her on her phone and refused to “save”, before an “verbal altercation” face to face.
She admitted having shouted an obscenity to Mrs. Ellis while telling her to “get out of my face”.
His lawyer noted how the star “feared for her baby to be born” and had not yet discussed the news of her pregnancy publicly.
Her case was reinforced by the testimony of the doctor she was there to see and her receptionist – Tierra Malcolm – who rushed between the women argued to try to break the fight.
Ms. Malcolm testified that Ms. Ellis was the attacker and that the security guard was banished his arms in an apparent attempt to hit Cardi B, which led to a reduction in the head of Ms. Malcolm.

Cardi B’s testimony has become viral while changing wigs and testing every day – the duration of her nails becoming a home several times in the case.
During the fence arguments, Cardi B wore a black and white polka dot costume with a red bow, his black hair tied.
As it is not a criminal case – but civil – the jury had been invited to decide if Cardi B should be held responsible for injuring Ms. Ellis and, how much, she should pay the security guard for pain and suffering.
Cardi B said that she was continued for $ 24 million and that Ms. Ellis was looking for a payment. Ms. Ellis’ lawyer in the closing arguments said that it was up to the jury to decide on an amount in dollars to compensate for Ms. Ellis.
In the end, the jury completely cleared the rapper in the case.
Apart from the Los Angeles County justice palace, a handful of fans presented themselves to support the rapper.
Christine Orozco, who lives near the courtyard, presented himself with a hand drawn panel which said: “If the nail does not correspond, you must pay”, a play of words referring to another celebrity trial of Los Angeles – that of Oj Simpson, where the gloves, not the nails, were the subject of debates. She said Cardi B read the panel and laughed.
“She had a round tip that day, not a clear point,” said Ms. Orozco about Cardi B nails. “She read the panel. She was pleating her eyes to see him. She laughed.”
