China Rams is specific to a warship while pursuing a Philippin ship

A Chinese warship entered his own coastal guard ship on Monday, while the latter was pursuing a Philippine ship in the Southern China Sea, Manila said.
Managers of the Coast Guard of the Philippines distributed aid to fishermen in the disputed Scarborough speaker, Commodore Jay Tarriela said, when the Chinese Coast Guard “made a risky maneuver” which inflicted “substantial damage” on the advanced bridge of the Chinese ship.
China confirmed that a confrontation had taken place and accused the Philippines of “the idea of force” in Chinese waters, but did not mention the collision.
The Southern China Sea is at the center of a territorial dispute between China, the Philippines and other countries.
Tensions between Beijing and Manila have seriously increased in recent years, each side accusing the other of provocations and altercations at sea, including weapons such as swords, spears and knives.
The Shoal of Scarborough, a triangular chain of reefs and rocks, was a flash point between the two countries since China seized it in 2012.
The video published by Manila showed a ship from the Chinese Coast Guard pulling water cannons while chasing the ship of the Coast Guard of the Philippines, before slamming in a much larger Chinese ship after making a sudden turn.
The collision made the Chinese warship “little testifies,” said Tarriela. We don’t know if someone was injured in the incident.
The Philippine Coast Guard has “constantly urged” the Chinese authorities to respect international conventions in the management of territorial disputes “, in particular given their role in the application of maritime laws,” said Tarriela.
“We also pointed out that such reckless behavior at sea could ultimately lead to accidents,” he added.
However, the Chinese coastal guard said that it was acting “in accordance with the law” and had taken “all the necessary measures” to chase the Filipino ships.
This is the last of a series of dangerous meetings in the past two years while Beijing and Manila seek to enforce their complaints on the disputed reefs and outcrops in the Southern China Sea.
In December of last year, the Philippines said that the Chinese Coast Guard had pulled water cannons and “failed” a government ship during a maritime patrol near the Highborough High-Found.
Beijing initially declared that the Filipino ships “were dangerously close” and that the actions of his crew had been “in accordance with the law”. He then accused Manila of making “false accusations to try to induce an international understanding misleading”.
In June 2024, Filipino soldiers used their “bare hands” to fight the staff of the Chinese Coast Guard armed with swords, spears and knives in the region. The skirmish led a Filipino soldier to lose his thumb, said Manila.
