Costco members have a 2025 wish list they want to see


Costco members on social media have revealed some things about the warehouse retailer that they believe could change.

Although there are many things to like about Costco, members inside Dedicated subreddits for Costco they will recognize the number of sellers, layouts and website if it is sometimes a pain in their shopping.

In a Reddit thread last month looked at the pros and cons of Costco, several people pointed out the crowds at the retailer’s warehouse, with one user describing them as “nuts.”

“I love it Costco and I know the products are good and the politics are good but I can’t wait in the parking lot and the long lines every time I want something quick,” said one Reddit user.

“Every time I go to Costco, no matter the day or time, I’m met with a crowd of people, and the checkout line is in the middle of the back of the store,” a Costco member said in another thread three months ago. “Every road is full of people, and the situation is made worse by free people who create traffic jams on every road.”

Some users said they encountered fewer people when visiting at certain times, such as right after opening or closing time.

The design of Costco’s warehouses, as well as the retailer’s practice of changing product locations and frequently exchanging offers, came up in a thread on the Costco subreddit.

One user submitted a suggestion the seller having a map or adding signs above her storage space would be helpful, noting that they spend “a lot of time going back up and down every aisle” looking for things.

“You can’t rely on your favorite/must-have item, since Costco changes what they get,” said another. “But that also means they always have something new.”

Another criticism of the layout focused on the amount of traffic inside Costcos near the entrance and exit points.

Costco may be bringing updates to its website, according to Reddit fans. Others thought of functionality and appearance.

Meanwhile, some have suggested that Costco should introduce “scan and go” technology to its grocery store.

FOX Business reached out to the store’s owner for comment.

When asked about “scan and go” during Costco’s earnings call last month, CEO Ron Vachris told analysts and investors that the company hears technology sometimes.

He said self-testing “has been a positive experience for our members and we are very focused on this.” Costco will “continue to focus on technology and how we can improve the front-end experience that is part of it,” according to Vachris.

The company began rolling out card readers in front of its US warehouses last summer.
