Eighteen Costco Teamsters are planning to strike if a “fair contract” is not delivered by the end of the month.
Eighty-five percent of Costco Teamsters in the United States voted in favor of acquiescing, according to a press release Sunday. Tensions continued to grow throughout the week, as the Teamsters staged several strikes Articles related to Costco on his social media.
“From day one, we have told Costco that our members will not work the day before January 31st without this historic and industry-leading agreement,” Teamsters Executive President Sean M. O’Brien said in a statement.
“The greedy executives of Costco have less than two weeks to do the right thing. If they refuse, they will have no one to blame but themselves when our members begin to be neglected,” continued O’Brien.

The players said on X “the final week of negotiations begins on January 20.”
Exercises have been carried out in California, Washington and Long Island “in preparation for possible strikes.”

The first Costco location opened in 1976 under the name Price Club “in a converted airport on Morena Boulevard in San Diego,” the retail giant’s website says. Today, the membership club is “a multi-billion dollar global retailer with club operations in eight countries.”
Costco’s website also states that the company is “generally known to be more employee-oriented than other Fortune 500 companies. By offering good wages and excellent benefits, the company has created a workplace culture that attracts good, hardworking, talented employees. .”

Costco did not immediately respond to FOX Business’ request for comment.
“We are the backbone of Costco,” Bryan Fields, a Costco employee in Baltimore and a member of Teamsters Local 570 said in a statement. “We run his own win and make his profit. Hopefully the company will step up and do well with us, but if they don’t, that’s on them. The company is taking action.”
