CPL 2025: Guyana Amazon Warriors overcome Trinbago Knight Riders in Thriller to keep the playoffs alive

The Providence stadium attended a high octane competition Guyana Amazon Warriors (GAW) held their nerve to beat Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) by three counters in match 23 of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2025.

Asked to beat first, TKR was in early trouble at 66/4, but the veteran Kieron Pollard put the chronometer with a stock -up. The versatile broke 54 out of only 18 balls, exploding five four and five to propel Trinbago to a competitive 167/5 in 20 Overs.

TKR quieurs fought hard to defend the total, led by the Sunil Narine still reliable (2/12 in 4 Overs), which applied the brakes in the middle of the Overs. Akeal Hosein (2/35) and Usman Tariq (1/36) also picked up crucial counters, while Nathan Edwards and Andre Russell added everyone.

However, Pretorius’ brightness in the finishing stages has canceled their efforts.

For its versatile performance, including a regular spell with the ball (1/26 in 3 overs) and a winning blow of 26 balls, Dwaine Pretorius was appointed player of the match.
