Curtis Jones makes a shocking endorsement of Mohamed Salah, saying he is not as good as the former Chelsea winger

Curtis Jones says Eden Hazard was a better player than Liverpool team-mate Mohamed Salah.

Comparisons are often made between Hazard and Salah based on their similar, understated looks and the intelligence the duo brought to the Premier League.

And while Jones grew up watching Hazard and remains a huge fan, he says he wants to have Salah by his side.

The Liverpudlian told TNT Sports ahead of tomorrow night’s Champions League clash with Lille at Anfield: “I know (Hazard) is always compared to Mo. I’ve been doing that with Mo.

“Like the player I saw when I was a kid, I love the game, I study the game and I want to be a player. I feel like Hazard is that. Every game I see I’m just like wow… that’s football.”

Jones added: “As a player is he better than Mo? In my opinion yes. But who would you rather have in your team? Say Mo because he gets you goals and assists.”

Jones’ decision sparked an uproar on social media, prompting Jones to reiterate his point about who he would prefer to play with.

Salah has helped Liverpool climb to the top of the Premier League table with 18 goals and 13 assists this season.
