Dave Bautista will face Henry Cavill in “Highlander”

Superman as Highlander was pretty cool, but now he will experience with Drax, and, as we know, there can only be one.
Yes, Dave Bautista joins the distribution of the next restart of Highlander of the director Chad Stahelski. Henry Cavill embodies Connor Macleod, a man who discovers that he is an immortal called Highlander. He is opposed by the Kurgan, another Highlander who killed them over the centuries. It’s Bautista.
The Hollywood Reporter announced the news in the casting, which is just the last of what turns out to be a very brilliant group. For example, Russell Crowe plays Ramirez, the Highlander who takes a male under his wing. In the original film of 1986, Christopher Lambert was MacLeod, Sean Connery was Ramirez and Clancy Brown was the Kurgan. They are all great actors, but they are certainly equaled by this remake.
A remake that, if you remember it, has been in preparation for a long time. Stahelski, better known to be the godfather of John Wick The franchise has been attached for almost 10 years. It is a real passionate project for him, and the fact that he will finally start to film next month must feel surreal.
“I have been a big fan of the original property since I saw it in high school,” said Stahelski in 2016. “So great themes of immortality, love and identity are all wrapped in such colorful mythology. I cannot think of a better property that gives the possibility of creating interesting characters, mythical themes and action pieces.”
Have revisited the original Highlander Semi-welcome, it will be interesting to see how Stahelski and the writer Michael Finch will be faithful. The original is incredible, but it leaves so much to the imagination that you must think that a modern filmmaker would lean there. Will this film deepen the mythology of what it means to be a Highlander? Or will it be more concentrated as the original? Maybe we will discover a little time next year.
