Tottenham boss, Thomas Frank, criticized Mathys’ mistreatment as after the defeat of the Super Cup against Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday.

The French international under 21 has been the subject of racist comments on social networks after missing a penalty in the match.

The Spurs published a statement condemning the abuses, and now Frank supported his player and congratulated him for having the courage to intensify and take a kick.

He said, “I think it’s terrible what happened to Mathys. We do everything to support him in this situation. He is a strong person. He will have the support of family and friends as well as us.

“There is no real supporter of Tottenham who would do that (for him). You will see the real supporters of Tottenham at the stadium tomorrow support him. I expect great cheers for him tomorrow.”

Frank also confirmed that Yves Bissouma will return to the team following a disciplinary absense of the Super Cup after being continuously late.

He added: “Each player available (Wednesday) is available for the team. Destiny (Udogy) is progressing, but it is too early for it to be involved in the team.

“I think Richy (Richarlison) was really phenomenal (against PSG), his restraint game, his intensity, his arrival in the box was in the lead.

“Of course, we are aware of his fitness situation, which is why we watched him closely-that’s why he did not play in the first match (pre-season) in Reading, but he is on this.”
