Gambleaware UK Charity to close after government law

Gambleaware is expected to close a gradual closure after the introduction of new game legislation in the United Kingdom.
The charitable organization has been active since 2002, working to raise awareness of the game -related damage and provide essential support for those who need it.
The organization confirmed the end of its mandate in an official declaration, which will see it succeeded by the appointment of three new commissioners, as well as the introduction of a new statutory tax to finance their work.
The commissioners will be responsible for carrying out work and development on research, prevention and treatment measures.
All this occurs after the presentation of the policy of reforming the long -awaited game games in May.
In his declaration, the organization said that “the work historically delivered by Gambleaware will now go to the British government and the new commissioners through England, Scotland and Wales”, with the closure of the charitable organization expected by March of next year.
Gambleaware had previously pleaded for delivery on a statutory system to replace his work, so in this regard, his work is done.
However, the organization has promised to pursue the aim of making existing commitments until the new system is in place.
Boucher urges the government to ensure that learning is postponed
The president of Gambleaware, Andy Boucher, described the work and the important achievements of the charitable organization, culminating in the creation of a statutory initiative led by public health to fight against damage related to the game.
“We welcome this new era in which the damage to the game are recognized alongside other public health problems and are funded by a statutory levy,” said Boucher.
He continued: “While we are entering the final phase of our commissioning work, we urge the NHS in England, the office to improve health and disparities, to British research and innovation, as well as the appropriate organisms in Scotland and in the land of Wales to rely on the achievements and ideas of the current system to ensure that learning.”
The Minister of Gambling, Baroness Twycross, also recognized the impact by Gambleaware and stressed the importance of their activity continues until the end of the transition period.
