Gen Z supporters protesting after Biden’s TikTok ban caused the social network to go dark for 12 hours are all saying one thing after their beloved app resumed operations on Sunday: Thank you, President Trump.

More than 170 million American users were unable to access TikTok on Saturday night, with the app displaying a message that it would be offline until further notice. The app is no longer available on Google or the App Store. The Biden administration signed off on the Chinese Communist Party-affiliated TikTok parent corporation Bytedance to leave the company in April or be banned from the United States. The Supreme Court upheld the order on Friday.
“A law banning TikTok has been implemented in the US. Unfortunately, that means you can’t use TikTok at this time,” the message read in part. The next morning, users were greeted with a new notification that the program had resumed operations “thanks to the efforts of President Trump.”
Activists were quick to celebrate the relaunch of their beloved app, with users praising President-elect Trump for helping restore TikTok after he said he would extend the app 90 days to comply.

“My birthday wish came true!!! Make TikTok great again! Worst 10 hours of my life,” she wrote TikTok user JFernandez81 Sunday, along with a video of promoters lip-syncing the words “you’re appreciated” from 2pac’s song Dear Mama.
“Thank you! Thank you Mr. Trump! We love you! We love you Papi” wrote TikTok user soyelmajedelvideooficial in a video that received over 2,000 likes.
Influencer Kristina Dunn endorsed the incoming president and put the app back online, saying “that’s why TikTok is back” he said wearing a prez-elect face shirt.

Even TikTok CEO Shou Chew thanked Trump for trying to keep his app online in the United States.
“I want to thank President Trump for his commitment to work with us to find a solution that makes TikTok available in the United States,” Chew said in a video posted to his TikTok channel on Friday.
