Georgiy Sudakov: The Ukrainian midfielder says that the Kyiv apartment is seriously damaged during the Russian drone attack

Ukraine midfielder Georgiy Sudakov said his apartment in kyiv was seriously damaged after being struck by a Russian drone while his wife and child were at home.
Sudakov, 23, is currently in international service with Ukraine, but has published photos and videos of the attack on his Instagram account.
It was not clear if the sudokov family had been injured during the attack.
“This is what my house looks like after this evening. Arrival of Shaheed (sic). The woman, the child and the mother were at home at the time,” said Sudakov in the accompanying position.
A wave of 805 drones and 13 missiles was sent by Russia overnight, according to Ukraine’s Air Force.
Although the Air Force declared that they had shot down 751 of them, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that four people had been killed and 44 others injured.
Kyiv residents have provided testimonies from eyewitness to use Shahed drones cited by Sudakov in his post.
BBC VERIFY located the building housing Sudakov’s apartment south-east of the district of Svyatoshyns’Kyi in kyiv.
Videos and verified photos show the upper stages of the seriously damaged, blackened and smokers, with destroyed walls of walls and windows.
The debris and rubble are scattered on the other side of the street outside and above the cars parked outside.
Sudakov, who was born in Bryanka in the Donbas region which is currently occupied by Russian forces, joined the Portuguese team Benfica de Shakhtar Donetsk in August.
He told BBC Sport in an interview last year that playing as a professional footballer during the war in Ukraine and being frequently far from his family in kyiv, was “difficult”.
“It is psychologically difficult when your family is far away and the first thing you see in the morning after waking up is a text of your wife by saying that she and your child hide in the bathroom,” said Sudakov in February 2024.
“Currently, when the situation in the country is very difficult, all the footballers are aware of it. When we play for the national team, we feel responsibility and pride, we want to please people who support us.”
Ukraine is currently preparing for a qualifier of the World Cup against Azerbaijan on Tuesday, after losing 2-0 against France during its opening match of the group D Friday.
