The Duke and the Duchess of Sussex announced that they were extending their agreement for films and television programs with Netflix.

This was described as a “first multi -year agreement”, which would give Netflix a first option on the proposals of the Prince Harry Archewell production company and Meghan.

It is a loose arrangement than their previous agreement – but it refutes the assertions that the Sussex and Netflix will completely separate from the company.

Meghan said that she and Harry were inspired by the partnership with Netflix to “create thoughtful content through genres that resonate worldwide and celebrate our shared vision”.

We do not know how many years the agreement should last or what financial arrangement is attached. The previous agreement, launched in 2020, was worth around $ 100 million (75 million pounds sterling).

The announcement comes before the second series of the Cookery Show, with Love, Meghan, later projected this month.

Netflix’s audience figures showed that the first series was not even in the 300 best most popular shows in the streaming service in the first half of 2025.

With Love, Meghan, a series of lifestyle that showed Meghan Cooking with famous friends, had 5.3 million views. In comparison, the most watched program on Netflix during this period was the adolescence of the drama with 145 million views.

A preceding documentary from Netflix, Harry & Meghan, telling the departure of the couple of their lives as “royal work”, had a wider audience, with 23.4 million views after its launch in December 2022.

Archewell has also announced a special edition of the Christmas season with Love, Meghan, who invites viewers to “join Meghan in Montecito for a magical celebration celebration”.

With love, Meghan was accompanied by a range of food and drinks, called like never before, which includes rosé wine and jams.

And there will be a show on Netflix later this year, with Harry and Meghan as producers, called Masaka Kids, a rhythm inside, about an orphanage in Uganda being a headlight of hope in a situation “where the shadow of the HIV / AIDS Linger crisis”.

Bela Bajaria, director of Netflix content, said: “Harry and Meghan are influential voices whose stories resonate with the public everywhere.

“The answer to their work speaks of itself – Harry and Meghan gave viewers an intimate overview of their lives and quickly became one of our most watched documentary series.”
