How Erling Haaland says new salary is comparable to Messi, Ronaldo & De Bruyne


There have been few more surprising contracts in football history than Erling Haaland’s latest.

The Norwegian shooter has written an amazing new record a nine-and-a-half-year contract with Manchester Citya deal that would, theoretically, keep him at the Etihad Stadium until he turns 33.

Unsurprisingly, Haaland’s latest deal comes with an impressive pay rise and cements his position as one of the world’s best earners – the reward for several years of exceptional work and consistent contributions.

But how does Haaland’s weekly pay packet compare to some of the other footballers?

There have been various reports regarding how much Haaland is getting with the dominant players in the Premier League but it has been revealed by TalkSPORT that his new contract gives him attention £500,000-a-week.

This is a £100,000-a-week increase on his previous salary and earns him £26m annually. If he stays at Man City until his contract expires in 2034, Haaland will have earned £247m in wages alone.

In different words, Haaland is currently earning about $50 per minute and $3,000 per hour. This is before you start thinking about sales and bonuses. Just amazing.

If Haaland earns half a million every week, this makes him the highest paid player in the Premier League at some level. The title was shared by Man City Kevin De Bruynewhose current contract is worth £400,000-a-week. Liverpool to Mohamed Salah and, ironically, of Manchester United Casemiro they are the highest earners and bring in £350,000 a week.

There are only six players in world football who earn more than Haaland at the moment, none of whom play in Europe. Unsurprisingly, Saudi Arabia is paying the highest wages, with Al Nassr star Cristiano Ronaldo spending £3.2m every seven days.

Neymar Jr. (£2.65m) and Karim Benzema (£1.6m) both earn ridiculous weekly wages, while the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi he earns £865,000-a-week at Inter Miami.

Sadio Mane (£650,000) is Haaland’s former Man City chum Riyad Mahrez (£580,000) also earns the Scandinavian behemoth weekly.
