It seems that every time I connect to Facebook, I see another friend selling their peloton bike on Marketplace. At the height of the pandemic, these same friends published their training sessions on the stationary bicycle and radiated to the fact that the home exercise equipment supported them by gymnasium closures. Peloton seemed to be at the forefront of the future of physical form in a work of the domestic world. But life came quickly. The gymnasiums reopened and people gathered towards them, many of them realizing that it is so much easier to train together. In addition to that, strength training has started to gain ground.

This left the peloton bikes alone to collect dust and society has suffered. But in the past two years, Peloton has made a slow but regular return. At the end of last year, it started its force + application in beta as a way to place itself in the increasingly popular force training space and to reintroduce itself as a fitness company which is not only focused on cardio. Today, the company has announced a series of major updates, stressing the fact that it wants to do everything on cross -training.

Peloton has reworked its entire range of fitness devices – its stationary bicycle, the row machine and the treadmill – to be cross drive devices, each having a swivel screen to easily switch between cardio and ground exercises. The company also started a new program fed by AI, IQ Peloton, which includes a movement tracker that follows the user when they perform various strength exercises, and have exercises as well as advice on a bad shape. The new equipment is also delivered with better audio (very first speakers), Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. It also includes smaller upgrades, including a bicycle telephone tray, an integrated three -speed fan which is at the top of the screen and a new seat which provides an additional cushioning (highly requested additional modules for dedicated users).

All-in, this peloton 2.0 represents a new era for the company: the one that provides complete and personalized body training. You can also incorporate third -party laptop data focused on fitness like Apple Health, Garmin and Fitbit. The smallest supplements that represent the thrust of the global health company include the meditation and breathing application, Breathwrk, which Peloton recently acquired, as well as a partnership with the hospital for special surgery in New York to generate personalized exercises for those who suffer from specific orthopedic injuries.

Although I have never owned a platoon device, countless friends, virtual and others, told me that home exercise equipment is a key element in maintaining a fitness routine in the middle of an absurdly hectic life. And part of the attraction of the peloton bike when it was first outing was that he connected you to a community of fitness users all from your home. Although the pandemic is over, our hectic lives are not. And if the boom in strength training is there to stay there is not clear (there is so much science to save it!), The new peloton updates seem to check all the boxes of what people want at the moment: flexibility in the place where you train and a mixture of cardio and force.

The way the new peloton peloton movement tracker will work will be interesting to look at. I obtained a live demo from the new device before launching and I watched a person’s curls easily and counted on the screen, while he ended up each. It looked funny, honestly, and could be the only way I could find joy in strength training, which always seemed to me to be a chore. Force training can also be intimidating to jump for many people (including me) and personal coaches can be out of many American budgets. It will therefore be interesting to see if an application that criticizes each of your squat and curls in real time will be worth the additional dollars.

The cross drive bike is now available from $ 1,695, the tread at $ 3,295 and the row (+ only) at $ 3,495. Peloton has also increased its membership prices, with a fully access to $ 50 subscription (from $ 44), APP + at $ 29 (from $ 24) and $ 16 application (from $ 13).
