The Brazilian Responsible Game Institute (IBJR) has launched a new website that can check whether a Paris website is regulated in seconds.

The brand new interactive component is part of the “No More Elephant in the Room” campaign, which was introduced this month to strengthen the fight against illegal platforms.

The tool, named Betalert, will allow any user to “check quickly and easily if the Paris site he intends to use is regulated by the federal government”. The technology behind Betalert is carried out on a microsite which offers the interactive experience and operates by the user by simply typing the URL of any Paris site.

The tool will then immediately indicate whether the platform is under license or otherwise. If it is regulated, the following message appears: “All good. This Paris site is authorized by the federal government.”

Otherwise, the system displays an alert that reads “” attention. This Paris site is not authorized by the federal government. »»

IBJR tool: 78% of people find it difficult to distinguish legal sites from illegal data discoveries

“IBJR greatly appreciates the use of tools and technologies that contribute to the spread of knowledge on the sector. Betalert is extremely important, and we hope that it will be widely used by Brazilian bettors and society, ”explains Fernando Vieira, executive president of IBJR.

“Our goal is to ensure that people have access to all the advantages of the regulations, whose nucleus is the safety of those who bet.”

This introduction comes after research was carried out by the Locomotiva Institute between April and May 2025, which revealed that between 41% and 51% of the Brazilian market in bets still operate illegally.

The activity of these platforms reflects a budgetary impact, because it is estimated that between 1.8 billion rands of R and 2.7 billion Rands of R is not collected in just three months. It is believed that it could reach 10.8 billion rands in a year. Also in the survey, it has been found that 78% of participants find it difficult to distinguish between legal sites and participants.
