Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola is “one of the best managers in world football,” said Jamie Redknapp after the Spaniard guided the Cherries second in the Premier League with Victory against Fulham.

During his second season in England, Iraola is the fourth favorite with bookmakers to become the next Manchester United manager after the home victory of his 3-1 team against Fulham on Friday, when two goals and a assist by Antoine Semenyo helped them recover from retirement in the 70th minute.

“It is incredible,” said the former English midfielder Redknapp in Sky Sports. “What an asset for the club. He could manage any team in world football – I really think.

“He has so much quality and he improves players. He offers young players.

Next Man United Manager: Andoni Iraola?

The manager of United, Ruben Amorim, had trouble transforming the fortune of the English champions 20 times since his name in November, including seven points of his first six championship games this season and a humiliating defeat of the EFL Cup to the fourth level Grimsby.

This race has led to intense speculation about the future of Portuguese at the richest club in English football, with oddsmakers considering that Iraola is a candidate to succeed him behind Oliver Glasner of Crystal Palace, the former head coach of England Gareth Southgate and the former boss of Barcelona Xavi.

“It is an incredible manager in such a small club,” added Redknapp from Iraola, 43, who was in charge of the Spanish side Rayo Vallecano between 2020 and 2023.

The former midfielder of the Premier League, Steve Sidwell, said that he would have “loved having played” for Iraola.

“He simplifies the game,” said Sidwell. “You look at the way Bournemouth Play: high intensity, win the ball as high as possible on the ground.

“They go directly and know how to make teams and play with their strengths. They have the players who do that, without Egos. They know their jobs and their roles and it seems that everyone has fun.”

Ryan Sessegnon had given the advance in Fulham, ending an incisive exchange with the winger of Milan on the housing Samuel Chukwueze.

The Ghana International Semenyo nourished Justin Kluivert to score remotely in the 84th minute and marked its second of almost six minutes in addition to additional time, from the pass of the replacement Ben Gannon-Doak.
