Indonesian police include more than $ 10 million in online gaming repression


The Indonesian national police forces have seized more than $ 10 million (154.3 billion RP) in a large -scale operation against online game.
Polri, as the Indonesia police force called it, frozen assets and seized 811 bank accounts containing more than $ 10 million in total. The operation is part of a broader repression of online game, which is illegal in the country.
“All are suspected of being linked to the online game activity,” the press management of the Directorate of Cybercrime of the Polri Criminal Investigation Unit. He said that out of the total of 811, the management froze 576 accounts worth 63.7 billion RP ($ 3.8 million) and entered 235 accounts containing 90.6 billion rupees ($ 5.5 million).
The Polri operation was carried out in coordination with the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK), based on the Financial Intelligence Agency reports. Surveys are still underway and are carried out under the Supreme Court Regulation No. 1/2013, with updates expected at a press conference soon.
“This is not the last step,” added Saragih. “We will continue to follow and dismantle online game networks. This is part of our commitment to clean the illegal activity in the digital space. ”

Polri chief general, Listyo Sigit Prabowo, has ordered a stronger repression of online game, which is illegal in Indonesia. He also called for more resources to apply to the application of the anti-money laundering laws targeting the main operators to allow the seizure and recovery of assets by the State.
