When the word was heard that TikTok after dark at 5:30 pm PT, the marathon began.

Even though it was about taking it all in, seeing how others felt, and making sure we were there until the end, it was painful and stressful. We wanted to share what the vibe was like in the last hour before TikTok went dark on Saturday night.

Since we didn’t know that TikTok would come back to us on Sunday morning, My Editor, Heather Edwards, and I took the last hour on TikTok to get some fun videos to share with our readers today. And even though the app is still working, we thought we’d share with you the last hour of TikTok as we saw it.

Facts, Facts, and Memories Filled TikTok’s FYP Saturday Night

The last scroll full of destruction on TikTok on Saturday night consisted of videos summarizing the time of the creator of the program, sharing fond memories, and saying goodbye. Other channels have shared news about the situation in different ways, such as a video made by a producer, @Jaxwritesmusic.

His video was captioned, “Thank you guys for changing my life and giving me the opportunity to pursue my dreams. I will forever be thankful for the friends I made on this program. I pray that my daughter finds a platform like this. One day I’m so angry. I will never forget this chapter. In this video , Jax shares the news that TikTok has been banned, and his thoughts behind it all.

“I’m sorry sir, I thought ‘national security threat’ was about data collection,” he said in response to a news report that TikTok is “a very powerful tool to attract people.”

“Here’s an interesting fact. Instagram, Facebook, Google, DoorDash and Airbnb all collect more than TikTok,” he continued. “TikTok has contributed more than $24 billion in US gross domestic product and more than 224,000 jobs to the US economy.”

He went on to tell others about TikTok and all the good things it has done, and compared TikTok to Meta.

His video quickly went viral with over 17 million views in one day. Many took to the comments to share their thoughts.

“And since you just gave us all this information so easily without searching that’s why they hate this app,” one person wrote. Another said, “We are free to have opinions, but they don’t want us to decide.”

Droniak’s Grandfather Can ‘Be Happy Now’

TikTok doesn’t just appeal to young people. People from all ages found TikTok a safe place to share their lives, and Droniak’s grandfather and proof of that. She shares her wisdom, dating advice, and life on the show. He shared a sad video to say goodbye to all his loyal followers.

“This program gave me a purpose late in life. I always wanted to be famous and it made my dreams come true in the 90s. I can spend time having fun. I don’t want to lose you all,” is written in the video of his grief.

The video quickly went viral with over 3 million views and positive and loving comments.

“Oh, this hurts,” one viewer wrote in the comments. “Keep killing grandma every day. Legends never end.”

Comparing 2020 and 2025

Brian Mollerknown for his fun but informative videos, he shared a video on Saturday about all the social media apps that millennials have been using. While walking, I expected to see the darkness and destruction of TikTok going dark and I was not disappointed when his video appeared in my FYP.

As with all of his videos, viewers can interact with his thoughts and share their thoughts in the comments section.

“It’s not funny that Millennials have ever been on any social media,” one person wrote. Another added, “I was waiting for one of your videos. I’m glad I saw it before it got dark. Thanks for the laugh.”

A few days ago, he shared a movie about the possibility of banning the surveillance of TikTok users.

The author, “TikTok Time of Our Lives,” takes an episode of every popular TV show and what they can think of right now. His game not only entertains but also informs the viewers and he has gathered many fans over the years with his performances.

‘Thanks For Following Me All Over Vegas’

Being a Vegas resident, I know @VegasStarfish it will go into my FYP. Watching his farewell video felt like a home episode and it brought instant sadness that the show would go dark.

“Well that’s it, my friends. It’s a TikTok Swan song, and unless something big happens in the next few days, this could be my last post on the app,” he began his farewell video. “Thank you for letting me share Las Vegas with you and thank you for coming along for the ride. You changed my life.”

He shared many of his experiences on TikTok and appreciated the app with everyone who has it.

“When my mom moved to Vegas I was so worried but you were on my FYP. YOU HELPED ME by giving me the comfort of being there so thank you,” one person wrote. Another person shared, “Thanks for the great Las Vegas vacation tips. You were so helpful.”

When TikTok came back on Sunday morning, he shared another movie about returning.

Keith Lee Drops Final Movie With Big News

Popular TikTok food reviewer Keith Leewho got the best of the program, shared a final video on Saturday that had great news at the end. He made sure to leave TikTok with a fun video that kept fans engaged till the end.

“If this is my last time here, I just want to say from the bottom of my heart, thank you and say goodbye,” he said at the beginning of his video from his car. After he gets out of his car with his family’s food boxes, the story begins.

Lee makes several phone calls and although we can hear what the person on the other end is saying, viewers can hear Lee saying, “mur mur mur” to add to the mystery of the big news shared at the end.

The video continues with Lee walking around his house and making phone calls after phone calls. At the end of the video, he reveals his stories about his new food journey and the platforms he will be sharing his new videos with.
