Updates are not yet available, but you can pre-order at App Store if you’re an iOS user and Mosseri says an Android version is “coming soon.” When they put the release sometime in February, the App Store website says March 13. And don’t expect anything too polished when it arrives. “The first one will not be enough, please be patient, but I am happy to put this in your hands,” said Mosseri.

The announcement came just after TikTok said its app was coming back online in the US, just 12 hours or so after it was shut down. CapCut is not yet back, but is expected to follow. Trump said on social media that he would announce the executive order after vowing to extend ByteDance’s time to plan TikTok’s future.

While Threads users have been calling out Instagram for the announcement period, said the app has been in development for several months, “and I think it will be very different from CapCut.” In the post, he said, “Editors will have more creative tools and maybe a smaller target audience. Consider a place to follow all your ideas instead of templates. Consider AI video editing tools per clip or per video. Think new why your videos They’re doing well or they’re struggling.” One way it appears Updates may have a leg up on CapCut, perhaps, is that the App Store website says videos won’t be watermarked when exported.
