Intel CEO described in Chinese state media as “ actively ” devoted to Chinese and Asian markets

Intel’s actions dropped Thursday after President Donald Trump said in an article on social networks that the CEO of the flea manufacturer had to resign.
“The CEO of Intel is very conflict and must resign, immediately,” said Trump on Truth Social. “There is no other solution to this problem. Thank you for your attention to this problem! ”
Trump published the post after Senator Tom Cotton sent a letter to Intel President Frank Yeary, expressing his concerns about the investments and ties of the CEO LIP-BU Tan with semiconductor companies that would be linked to the Chinese Communist Party and the Popular Liberation Army, and asked the Board of Directors if Tan had deleted his interests in these societies to eliminate any conflict of interest.
Intel did not immediately respond to a request for comments, it is therefore not immediately clear if Tan has sold its interests in companies.
“In March 2025, Intel appointed Lip-Bu Tan as a new CEO,” wrote Cotton in the letter. “M. Tan would have checked dozens of Chinese companies and has a participation in hundreds of Chinese manufacturing and flea companies.
Tan, who took office as CEO in March, previously launched the venture capital company Walden International in 1987 to focus on the financing of technological start-ups, including flea manufacturers. The Chinese state media described the TAN as “actively” devoted to Chinese and Asian markets, having invested not only in the Taiwan semiconductor Manufacturing Company, but also the Chinese state company SMIC, which seeks to advance the capacities of the theater creation of China.
The requests made by Trump and Cotton have come from economic and political rivalries between the United States and China are increasingly focusing on competitions on fleas, AI and other digital technologies which, according to experts, will shape future economies and military conflicts.
Cotton, chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, has feared that Chinese spies work in technological companies and defense entrepreneurs, using their positions to steal secrets or plant digital wanderings that give China access to classified systems and networks.
On Thursday, the Arkansas Republican wrote to the Ministry of Defense urging defense secret Pete Hegseth to prohibit all non -American citizens from allowing them to access DOD networks. He also demanded an investigation into Chinese citizens working for defense entrepreneurs.
“The US government acknowledges that Cyber capacities of China represent one of the most aggressive and dangerous threats to the United States, as evidenced by the infiltration of our critical infrastructure, our telecommunications networks and supply chains,” Cotton wrote in a previous letter calling for the Pentagon to conduct the investigation.
National security officials have linked the Chinese government to hacking campaigns targeting eminent Americans and critical American systems.
“American companies that receive government subsidies should be responsible for taxpayers’ dollars and respect strict security regulations,” Cotton wrote on the social platform X.
Intel had benefited from the Biden Administration Puces Act, receiving more than $ 8 billion in federal funding to build computer flea plants across the country.
California’s actions have slipped 3.5%, while the markets, especially the Nasdaq, heavy with technology, have gained ground.
Founded in 1968 at the start of the PC revolution, Intel missed the technological transition to mobile computing triggered by the release of the iPhone in Apple, and it has been more agile. Intel problems have been amplified since the advent of artificial intelligence – a booming field where the chips made by a rival formerly smaller Nvidia have become the hottest goods of tech.
Intel loses thousands of workers and cutting expenses – including certain manufacturing capacities of interior semiconductors – while TAN tries to relaunch the fortune of the flea manufacturer in difficulty.
