Israel beats the city of Gaza in preparation for the offensive

Airplanes and tanks have shone certain parts of Gaza City, while Israel’s plans to grasp the largest urban area in the territory increases the pressure on nearly a million Palestinians who live there.

Residents spoke of uninterrupted explosions in the northern and east parts of the city.

Israeli troops have also returned to explode buildings in the Jabalia refugee camp further north.

Sixty-four people were killed and nearly 300 injured in Israeli attacks in the last 24 hours, the territory ministry in Hamas said.

Eighteen of the 36 Gaza hospitals are currently partially functional, according to the UN – 11 in Gaza City and its surroundings and one in a separate administrative district in North Gaza.
