Israeli drone strikes near Damascus killed six Syrian soldiers, said the Syrian government, among a series of attacks reported this week.

The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs sentenced Tuesday’s strike as a violation of international law and a violation of its sovereignty.

After more strikes on Wednesday, Israeli forces carried out an air landing on a former military site in the region, an international report and Syrian state media. The reports differ on what the forces have done and how long they stayed.

The army of Israel told the BBC that it had not commented on foreign relationships. Defense Minister Israel Katz posted on X Thursday that “forces work in all day and night combat areas for Israel’s security”.

Israel led dozens of attacks across Syria after the fall of former President Bashar al-Assad in December, who saw an Islamist government created by former rebels. Israel said at the time that he acted to prevent weapons from falling “in the hands of extremists”.

This year, Israel has led 95 attacks – 85 air strikes and 10 land operations – according to the British Monitor Syrian Observatory.

Tuesday’s attack occurred while Syrian troops were trying to face the “surveillance and listening devices” discovered during a field tour near Al-Kiswah, reports the Arab Arab Arab news agency (Sana).

Other air strikes followed on Wednesday, taking place approximately 10 km (six miles) from where the acting president of Syria, Ahmed Al-Sharaa, attended the Damascus international fair, reported Sohr.

Few details were available on landing by Israeli forces in the former military site, which was reported on Wednesday evening.

Sana reported that Israeli aircraft had launched several raids, followed by an airline, “whose details must still be determined”.

A Syrian military source told Al Jazeera that the operation included dozens of soldiers with research equipment that remained on the site for more than two hours.

Two sources of the Syrian army told Reuters that the troops had led the landing, but retired afterwards, without further details.

The series of attacks reported this week comes when the two countries are committed to deconflicted talks.

In July, Israel bombed the Syrian government forces around Suwaida in the south of the country while the army entered the city predominantly from Druze after fatal clashes.

The Israeli Prime Minister said that he had ordered strikes on forces and weapons because the government “intended to use them) against the Druze”. Syria condemned the July attacks which, according to him, had led to the death of members of the armed forces and civilians.

There is also a population of Druze, whose religion is a branching of Shiite Islam with its own identity and its unique beliefs in Israel.
