Tottenham manager Thomas Frank felt that his team had “preceded” their victory in the Champions League against Villarreal.

The Spurs started under Frank, third in the Premier League. It was a step for his side and he will know that they will have to improve against the tastes of Monaco and the Paris St-Germain champions later in the year.

He said: “We have a very good basis for standing with regard to our defensive organization. I think it’s good and we have given little.

“It’s the Champions League against a good team. In addition, we took a step forward against West Ham, offensively is the area we need to get better. ”
