Many unfamiliar people who were former presidents, relatives and US officials at the inauguration of Donald Trump.

From tech billionaires to social media influencers, here’s your guide to the star-studded guest list.

Tech billionaire

Trump’s close relationship with X owner Elon Musk is well known but Musk isn’t the only tech giant at Monday’s inauguration.

Mark Zuckerberg, who earlier this month announced that Meta would remove critics and “significantly reduce the number of searches” on its platforms, is also present.

Controversial actor Joe Rogan also appeared in the opening ceremony.

In 2020, Rogan endorsed Democrat Bernie Sanders but before the 2024 election. acknowledged Trump.

At times, Rogan’s editorial style has landed him in controversy – for example, during the Covid pandemic, when he was accused of spreading false information about vaccines.

In 2022, Rogan apologized after appearing to repeatedly use the word an in the early episodes of the show.

Political leaders are old

As is the case with presidential inaugurations, many former US presidents attend.

Much has been made in the press about Michelle Obama not accompanying her husband Barack to Monday’s ceremony.

Along with Obama, who was in office before Trump’s last term, are former presidents including Bill Clinton and George W Bush.

Another familiar face is former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

When Johnson took office in 2019, Trump described him as a “good guy”, adding: “They call him the British Trump.”
