During his recent appearance on the podcast 2 bear, 1 cave (via CBR), James Gunn suggested that the new Batman of the DCU will be a “raw”.

I like the detective Batman, but I also really like the fighter Batman, it’s just the brute who fights.

Later in the podcast (via Collider), Gunn revealed that there were internal conversations at DC on the color of Batman’s eyes.

Should Batman have white eyes? It is a great subject of conversation. Is it like, “guys, is that really what matters?” But these are the things they care about. Should his utility belt be yellow? Should he have the yellow crest around the bat? All this kind of things. None of these things is what is most important to me. What matters is the character, the story and I think we have a very good story now for what’s going on with Batman.
