Karen Gillan joins the new “Highlander” and has the best reaction to the new

The casting of the next reimagination of Highlander Just better and better. Henry Cavill leads the whole which includes Russell Crowe and Dave Bautista, and now we know that Karen Gillan, the queen of the genre better known for her roles Doctor Who, Galaxy Guardians, and the Jumanji Franchises, joins the mixture.
In a way, she is a film in which she was born. The Hollywood Reporter announced the news in the casting of Gillan, and she republished it on X with the comment “The dialect coach can sit down …” HighlanderOf course, there is largely in Scotland, the country of origin of Gillan, so there will be no votes of nebula here. Just pure Karen Gillan.
Highlander is a radical epic through the ages on eternal beings who fight until only one remains. We follow Connor Macleod, played by Henry Cavill, while he learns his destiny and fights to survive through the centuries. Gillan plays Heather, his first deadly wife. Beatie Edney played the role in the original 1986, which saw MacLeod marry him after being ousted by his clan. The two live a peaceful life, but MacLeod does not age, being a highlander and everything, and Heather finally dies of old age. We do not know if the role is the same in this new version, but it is a solid support role.
In addition to Cavill, Crowe plays the role of the MacLeod mentor, Ramirez, who was originally played and made famous by Sean Connery. Bautista is the Kurgan, another Highlander who is very competent to kill other Highlanders and aims in Macleod. Black bag Star Marisa Abela is also in the film, perhaps as a modern scientist who finds himself investigating events.
Written by Michael Finch (John Wick: Chapter 4) and produced by the sponsor of the franchise of John Wick. Chad Stahelski, Highlander Starts to shoot in September and we cannot wait. It is a franchise that lived on the sidelines but, with this distribution and this team, has the potential to be really special.
