Keith LeeA beloved viral food critic and activist, he recently showed up on his amazing online tour as a US talent TikTok ban looms.

From his humble beginnings to becoming a trusted voice for small businesses and TikTok users, Lee shared how the app changed his life and allowed him to connect with millions around the world. And in Lee’s style, he thanked everyone who helped make his dream come true.

As TikTok users in the US wait anxiously to see if the program will be available or dark on Sunday, January 19, many creators are saying goodbye to the program, perhaps.

About viruses TikToker Lee, remembering and taking a little trip to share some of the good things was his way of inviting TikTok and all its followers to say goodbye if the app goes dark.

“All the issues surrounding TikTok, I think it’s time to talk about it. So let’s talk about it,” he began his video. “I just want to start saying if it’s not true and we’re here after 19, regardless, this message is still there. This community, and I say the community, I’m not saying that lightly, it has changed my whole life.”

He went on to explain in his video that “the lives of countless families have been affected.” He then mentioned a few of the people he was able to help with his food reviews.

Lee he mentioned a number of inspiring stories that he was involved in creating.

“A woman who was a teacher for 20 years was able to breathe after 24 hours of re-examination,” he said. Before he passed, he was able to see his restaurant flourish, something he had dreamed of all his life.”

His list went on to shout out the owner of a banana store in Texas, and that’s how he opened a second location. Lee also talked about a Vegas pizza shop that “almost closed, a week away from closing” and how it opened two and a half years later. He said Cleo’s in Chicago “went from having one location to three.”

“And those are the only five that came to mind. There have been hundreds,” he continued. “This is a job I believe in with all my heart, God has put me in it, and there is no one or no one who can stop me from doing it.”

Lee he said that no matter what happens with any program, “we stand with y’all.” He reminded his followers that his name is the same on all other social media channels, and shared that he has “big stories” that he can’t “get into.”

Like all of Lee’s videos, his loyal followers jumped into the comments section to share their support, gratitude, and love for everything he’s doing.

“You have changed so many lives with this app and I pray we get to see you change,” one viewer wrote. Another said, “Thank you Keith. God has used your gift of communication and compassion to help people. This is what life is all about using our gifts and testimonies to help and bless others. This is a real community.”

Another viewer added, “You are the good people of TikTok who are changing the world.”

Many others wonder if Lee will move to RedNote in the future, though he hasn’t answered yet.

Lee, 28, opened recently PEOPLE about how the program helped him deal with anxiety and depression. He explained that his comments not only help the restaurants and business owners, but also himself.

Comparing videos from when he was 18 to now, he credited TikTok for the difference.

“I believe that TikTok has played a very important role in this, as well as the people of TikTok,” he said. “I’m always thankful for them.”

He also credits his family, his wife Ronni and their children Karter and Riley, for helping him overcome depression and anxiety.

“Without them, I don’t believe I would have been able to cope as well as I have or have as many resources as I have,” he said.

On Friday, Lee took to TikTok to share a comeback video to show how he got through the app.

The video shows Lee making dinner for his wife while taking care of their son. He was responding to comments, “why are you cooking why can’t mom help you,” and “a teaching moment” where he can “leave knowledge.”

It didn’t take long for viewers to flood the comment section.

“This all started from some hater comment? Look how this started wow!!” one person wrote. Another added, “We made a man worthy of fame…God bless you, Keith!!”

And the love and support didn’t end there.

“Unbelievable growth. I appreciate your faith and hard work,” one person shared. Another said, “Thanks for being with us Keith and thanks for all the wonderful things.”
