Sunrisers Eastern Cape (SEC) Liam Dawson’s outstanding performance against Durban Super Giants (DSG) in the 14th round of the SA20 2025. Liam Dawson completed a powerful one-handed catch to send JJ Smuts back to the dugout, leaving fans and players in shock.

The fourth wicket was JJ Smuts, and the record goes to bowler Liam Dawson. The game time came in the 6th over of the Durban innings. Richard Gleeson gave it his all round the rest of the line. Smuts committed to an off-drive but tried to convert his shot, which led to a mishit.

The ball looked to be heading for the boundary, but Dawson dived to his right hand and made a stunning strike. The catch left Smuts stunned and stunned Quinton de Kock, who couldn’t believe what he saw from the dressing room. It was one of the best performances of the tournament.

Sunrisers Eastern Cape chased down the target comfortably in 15.2 Overs

The Sunrisers Eastern Cape bowlers, led by Marco Jansen and Richard Gleeson, bowled out the Durban Super Giants for 115/8 in their 20 overs. Kane Williamson’s sick 44 was the only contribution from the Super Giants, while Naveen-ul-Haq he added a quick 30 off 15 balls.

In reply, Sunrisers Eastern Cape chased down the score in 15.2 overs. David Bedingham hit 39 off 20 balls, and Aiden Markram added 31 off 20 balls, leading them to victory. With the win, the SEC secured the bonus points and moved into fourth place with 10 points from five games.

Sunrisers captain Aiden Markram said the atmosphere from the home fans was energizing. He showed that a strong start in the powerplay allowed his team to get the bonus point. Markram also admitted that he did not expect the wicket to play out the way it did, with more bounce than he expected.

“It also happened that (the atmosphere from the home fans) was a real shock. At first you don’t care too much. We needed a good energy and luckily a good start allowed to get a bonus point. I didn’t have to look for it too much he said.
