Liverpool “I want to win everything” says Ekitike

Liverpool striker Hugo Ekitike says the Reds “want to win everything” after impressing in a pair of consecutive old friendly matches against Bilbao athletic.

Ekitike, 23, impressed with his restraint game and created the first goal for Mohamed Salah while Arne Slot’s first team won 3-2 to a crowded Anfield.

The French international under 21 says that there is more to come from the Premier League champions – starting with the Sunday shield on Sunday against Crystal Palace.

He said, “I really enjoyed it, it was such a good atmosphere. I am proud and I just want to play so many games in this stadium because it is incredible.

“I have been here for more than a week now, so I still try to find links with others in the last passes and even before. I like to play with them, apart from the field, they are also good guys. So I enjoy playing with them.

“It’s early, it’s the last friendly match before (Shield Community Shield). I think it was important today to win, to go and play this game with confidence. But the real season begins, I think that Sunday for the cup match and we are looking forward to this.

“We have a group of competitors, we want to win everything. We are going to give 100%, I’m sure. I’m sure of that. And I too will give 100% to win because I’m here to win. ”

Ekitike has trained an exciting attacker quartet with Salah, Cody Gakpo and his new new signature Florian Wirtz.

The Reds began their Premier League campaign against Bournemouth on Friday, August 15.
