Liverpool sign Alexander Isak from Newcastle for British record costs

Liverpool finished the signature of Alexander Isak from Newcastle, ending a saga that dominated this transfer window.
The 25 -year -old signed a long -term contract in Anfield after Liverpool agreed to pay British record costs of 125 million pounds Sterling.
Speaking for the first time as a red, he said: “It was a long trip to get here. But I am super happy to be part of this team, this club and everything that represents. This is something that I am proud of and I am really impatient to do it.
“I’m just glad it is done and that I can go back to work. I can’t wait to see my teammates and the fans and come back there.
“I think I have a lot to give, I think I have a lot to improve. I am an attacker but I always want to give the team as much as possible, mainly goals but much more than that too.
“I want to win everything. Yeah, (as simple as that). “
Newcastle published its own declaration after the announcement of the agreement, and they reserved only 37 words for the man who led them to the glory of the Carabao Cup last season.
He read: “Newcastle United can announce the sale of striker Alexander Isak in Liverpool for significant British record costs.
“The Swedish international joined the Magpies of Real Sociedad in 2022 and made 109 appearances in all competitions.”
Isak finally obtains his wish and joins Liverpool
This means that Isak obtains the move he missed for all summer after making his desire to leave Newcastle two weeks ago. Liverpool saw an offer of 110 million pounds Sterling rejected in early August, after the player missed the club’s pre-season tour in Asia with an apparent minor injury.
The Swedish international scored 23 goals in 34 appearances in the Last League while the men of Eddie Howe finished fifth to qualify for the Champions League.
The last mandate has also seen the club put an end to a 70-year expectation for a major trophy when they raised the EFL Cup, Isak marking a 2-1 victory on Liverpool in the final at Wembley.
Isak treats another act in a brilliant window for Liverpool
Its capture completes a remarkable window for Liverpool, which has reinforced considerably after crossing the title of the Premier League last season.
Hugo Ekitike, Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez and Jeremie Frimpong have all moved to Merseyside this summer and, although the performances were not too convincing in the first weeks of the season, Liverpool still exceeds the table with a 100%record.
Newcastle started in a contrasting manner. They scored twice in three games and have not yet won.
They have finally taken measures to replace Isak in recent days, however, to sign the German international Nick Woltemade for 69 million pounds Sterling while a move of 55 million pounds Sterling for Yoane Wissa should also be carried out before the deadline.
Before that, they were rejected by a multitude of players, including Liam Delap, Benjamin Sesko, Ekitike and Brian Mbeumo.
