Los Angeles water chief details police safety amid ‘threats’ against him, staff


The Los Angeles A water chief has been given more police protection amid “threats” against him and water crews as wildfires sweep through southern California, two Los Angeles police officers told Fox News.

Los Angeles Department of Water and Power Director Janisse Quinones now has a 24/7 LAPD detail responding to the threats, sources said.

An LAPD source cited the recent incident in New York to United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson.

Quinones reportedly makes $750,000 a year.

They are being criticized by the people for preparing for the fire of Los Angeles and distributing water among them wildfires in the area.

“We observe any threats and incidents and report them to the police immediately,” the department continued. “We are not discussing the security measures that are in place to protect our employees.”

The department also said: “Our staff are working tirelessly day and night to help the City respond, and their work is very important to this end.” They are an important part of the City family, they are in the area, and there is no place. in public or in our City for any threat to their safety.”
