The saga of Cara Dune vs. Star Wars ended. Lucasfilm and the Walt Disney Company concluded an agreement with actress Gina Carano in their legal dispute on her dismissal The Mandalorian.

“The Walt Disney Company and Lucasfilm are pleased to announce that we have entered into an agreement with Gina Carano to solve the problems of her current trial against companies,” said a spokesperson for Lucasfilm. “Ms. Carano has always been very respected by her directors, co-stars and her staff, and she worked hard to perfect her job while treating her colleagues with kindness and respect. With this trial concluded, we are impatient to identify the opportunities to work with Ms. Carano in the near future. ”

It all started in 2021 when Io9 exclusively announced the news that Lucasfilm had separated from the star of The Mandalorian. This decision came after months of complaints concerning the online presence of Carano, including mockery COVID MASK mandates,, spill On the American elections, to love posts offset the Black Lives Matter movement, and derivation pronoun use.

Then, in 2024, Carano continued Lucasfilm for unjustified discrimination and termination, essentially affirming that none of this was contrary to his contract and fell under freedom of expression. Oh, and as much of this happened on Twitter, Elon Musk helped finance the trial. “Some of us were unjustly distinguished, harassed, persecuted and have removed our livelihoods because we dared to encourage the conversation, asked questions and refused to attend the crowd,” Carano said in a statement at the time.

A few months later, it seemed inevitable that the case would appear before the court, when a judge said that Disney had “not identified any evidence – in the complaint or otherwise – to support an assertion that they employ actors accessible to the public in order to promote the values of respect”, “decency”, “integrity” or “inclusion”.

But now it’s over. The case was settled. No monetary amount has been revealed and it is unlikely to be. Now we are waiting to see if Lucasfilm is serious about “working with Ms. Carano” in the near future, or simply to say that.

Carano later published a declaration on X. “I reached an agreement with Disney / Lucasfilm which, I believe, is the best result for all the parties involved. I hope it will heal the strength, ”reads the Carano declaration. “I want to extend my deepest gratitude to Elon Musk, a man I have never met, who has done this good act of Samaritan for me in the financing of my trial. Thank you Mr. Musk and X for supporting my case and not asking anything in return. ”

This article has been updated to include Carano’s comments.
