He said: “I am very happy to join the Manchester City team, a club that I have watched for a long time.
“This team has the best players in the world, and I can’t wait to meet them and play with them.
“And of course Pep Guardiola is one of the greatest coaches and I am happy to learn from him and improve my game a lot.
“It’s a very proud moment for me and my family to join a big club like Manchester City and I’m ready to take on the challenge.”
City director of football Txiki Begiristain added: “We are delighted that he has joined us and we are all very excited about what he has brought.
“For such a young defender, Abdukodir is already smart, as well as being strong, aggressive and very quick.”
