Police have published a photo of Michael Brown, the suspect of the shooting, fleeing after opening fire.

Police have appointed four people killed in a shooting in a bar in the American state in Montana as a man’s hunting for an army veteran suspected of the attack entered his third day.

The Barmaid Nancy Lauretta Kelley, 64, and three customers – Daniel Edwin Baillie, 59, David Allen Leach, 70, and Tony Wayne Palm, 74 years old – died as a handful aggressor of rifle opened fire at the advertising town of Anaconda on Friday morning.

Police said suspect Michael Paul Brown, 45, fled to nearby foothills.

The authorities offered a reward of $ 7,500 (£ 5,650) for any information that will lead to their capture.

“He is an unstable person who entered and murdered four people in cold blood for no reason,” the prosecutor general of Montana, Austin Knudsen said on Sunday.

“So there is absolutely a concern for the public.”

He added that officials had since expanded their research area to include national forest land outside Anaconda, a city with a population of almost 10,000 inhabitants in the southwest of Montana which is surrounded by dense and mountainous land.

“We want to find this guy,” said Knudsen. “It is a dangerous person who committed an absolute odious crime against this community.”

About 250 agents from the police – federal, state and local – helped on foot research as well as car and helicopter, officials said.

The shooting occurred at the OWL bar around 10:30 am local on Friday morning, officials announced.

Mr. Knudsen noted that the suspect was a regular and lived next to it. He said he was “likely that he (the suspect) knew the bartender and these customers, which makes him even more odious”.

Cassandra Dutra, another barmaid, told CNN that the suspect would frequently come in the owl bar, but “he was not part of camaraderie” among customers. Ms. Dutra did not work on Friday.

Ms. Kelley’s daughter Nancy Kelley told NBC News that her mother was a nurse for about 30 years until her retirement recently, when she found part -time work at the bar as “it kept her a little social, just seeing people”.

She said that a mass shot was once unthinkable in Anaconda.

“We haven’t even locked our cars outside, you know, nor the house, and that is, I mean, I wouldn’t say, it’s dangerous here at all,” she said.

Investigators did not eliminate the possibility that Mr. Brown now died, but said they were acting by assuming that he was alive, armed and dangerous.

Brown is a veteran of the American armed forces who served as an armor crew from 2001 to 2005 and were deployed in Iraq from 2004 to 2005, a military spokesperson for the American media.

After the shooting authorities found a White Ford-150 van which, according to the suspect, had used to run away, but no sign of him.

On Saturday, the Montana criminal investigation division published an updated image which, they said, showed that the suspect was fleeing the premises.

In the photo, a man is seen shirtless, barefoot and wearing only black shorts, and walking on the stairs while leaning against a stone wall.

Knudsen said the photo was taken after the suspect got rid of certain personal effects and his clothes.

He thinks that Mr. Brown then obtained other clothes and shoes and was able to “move around”.

The shooting has forced many companies in the region to close. Some have since reopened, but many public events have been canceled due to human hunting.

Mr. Brown’s niece, Clare Boyle, told the Associated Press news agency that his uncle had trouble with mental illness for years.

“He’s not just a drunk / high man who is unleashed,” she said in a Facebook message.

“He is a sick man who does not know who he is sometimes and often does not know where or when he is either.”
