  • McDonald’s tends to his past to please young customers. The company will resuscitate the characters of McDonaldland, notably Birdie, Hamburglar and the mayor McCheese, from August 12. An adult version of Happy Meal will also be offered.

Grimace’s return to McDonald’s was a viral success. Now the company brings a flock of characters from its past.

For the first time in 20 years, McDonald’s plans to incorporate Ronald McDonald, Grimace, Birdie, Hamburglar, the mayor McCheese and the Fry Friends (alias the Fry Guys) in his marketing. Mia is still an officer Big Mac, Captain Crook (mainly a hamburglar for the Filet-O-Fish) and the dog of Ronald Sunday.

From August 12, the channel will launch the McDonaldland meal, a kind of happy meal for adults with a quarter of books with cheese or chicken mcnuggets, fries, a collection memory and the new MT. McDonaldland Shake, which presents a mystery aroma that the company encourages the guests to understand.

It is a marketing push that could appeal to both generation Z and generation X.

“In recent years, we have seen how fans are flocking to our characters, everyone from grimace at the Hamburglar. But many, in particular the new generation, do not know that this is only the tip of the iceberg,” said Jennifer “JJ”, vice-president of McDonald’s, Marketing, Brand, Content and Culture. “It’s a chance for us to give fans a new modern way to discover this magical world.”

Meals will include one of the six collectible boxes that include postcards, stickers, and even more, each inspired by the different characters.

McDonaldland’s advertising campaign dates back to 1971 and presented everything, apple pies with Hamburger bushes. The advertisements were … finally, pure from the 1970s.
