MGM Resorts and Genting are the first operators to move forward with the New York casino license requests.

The last being that candidates for the casino in New York may not hear updates before the start of next year, MGM Resorts and Genting are now the first operators to take the next step in the process. The two received the approval of their respective community council committees on Thursday.

The two operators offer to extend their existing VLT casinos to larger stations. For MGM, the committee voted unanimously to advance the proposal of $ 2.3 billion, after the company added several financing initiatives at its request during the examination process. This adds nearly $ 117 million in additional projects that will help improve the Yonkers district and beyond.

Greeting also obtained the unanimous approval of the Committee for its plan to extend the World New York stations. The proposal of $ 5.5 billion includes an integrated seaside resort of 5,600,000 square feet made up of 6,000 slot machines, 800 play tables, 2,000 hotel rooms, a 7,000 -space arena and more than 7,000 parking spaces.

New York Casino licenses are a busy market

Eight tenderers also argued to have the chance to build the very first Casino in the city throughout the summer. The state plans to issue up to three licenses, forcing the developers to a battle to get in mind. The community’s approval process was underway throughout the summer, the public hearings taking place in July and August.

MGM Resorts and Genting are the first two of the eights to go to this stage of the process. This leaves Caesars Palace Times Square, Freedom Plaza, Avenir, Coney Island, the Metropolitan Park proposal from Hard Rock, Bully’s Bronx and Empire City Casino behind for the moment.

With billions of dollars in future profits into play, the developers will always work hard to integrate their proposal in a winning place.
