MI6 launches Dark Web Portal to attract spies in Russia

MI6 launches its own portal dedicated to the Dark Web in the hope of attracting new spies online, especially Russia.
The Silent Courier secure messaging platform aims to strengthen national security by facilitating the recruitment of the intelligence agency, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Potential agents in Russia and the world will be targeted by the United Kingdom, he adds.
On Friday, the outgoing chief of the MI6, Sir Richard Moore, called on potential spies worldwide to access anonymously on the Dark web by following the instructions on the MI6 own YouTube video.
In his latest public speech as the leader of the MI6, Sir Richard launched conduct worldwide targeting potential spies in Russia, China, Iran, North Korea and elsewhere.
Friday morning, in the same speech of Istanbul, he expressed scathing criticism of President Putin, claiming “that there is no evidence” the Russian president is interested in negotiated peace “, unless the Ukrainian capitulation”.
“He puts us on”.
He added that Putin cannot succeed in Ukraine and said that Putin had “bitten more than he can chew”, adding that the economy and demography of Russia are in long -term decline and that “Putin war is accelerating”.
The chief of Mi6 also accused China of supporting the war effort of Russia both diplomatically and through double -use goods such as “chemicals that are found in their shells and their electronic components which are found in their missiles”.
The support of China, he said, with Iran and North Korea prevents Putin from concluding a reasonable affair.
Later this month, Sir Richard is expected to put back Blaise Mereweli.
Before Friday’s announcement on the new dedicated portal, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yvette Cooper, said: “National security is the first duty of any government and the foundation of the Prime Minister’s change plan.
“As the world changes and the threats we face are increasing, we must make sure that the United Kingdom is always one step ahead of our opponents.
“Our world -class intelligence agencies are in the face of the coal of this challenge, working behind the scenes to ensure the safety of the British.
“Now we are strengthening their efforts with advanced technology so that the MI6 can recruit new spies for the United Kingdom – in Russia and in the world.”
Anyone who wishes to safely contact the United Kingdom with sensitive information relating to terrorism or a hostile intelligence activity will be able to access the portal from Friday.
The instructions on how to use the portal will be accessible to the public on the checked youtube channel of the MI6.
Users are recommended to access it via VPNs and reliable devices that are not linked to themselves.
The launch follows a similar approach to the Central Intelligence Agency in the United States (CIA), which published videos on social networks to target potential Russian spies in 2023.
The CIA had previously suffered a disastrous loss of its agents in China after their links with the dark web were raped by the Beijing State Ministry of Security.
Officials said it was one of the worst security offenses in recent years.
