Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna has admitted the club are “ready” to act a symbol replacing winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in response to links to Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho.
Kvaratskhelia left for Paris Saint-Germain last week for €70m (£59.1m) and is believed to be Napoli have set their sights on Garnacho as their favorite heritage.
Manna was asked if Napoli would try to lure Garnacho United. Although he refused to give details, he admitted that the team is working to find a replacement for Kvaratskhelia.
“We are investigating, let’s not get caught up in the chaos,” he said Sky Sports Italy. “There is hope, we will be ready but according to what Napoli want.”
United are not thought to be interested in offloading Garnacho, himself The potential presence has attracted the attention of Chelseabut they may be willing to accept offers of around £60m.
The fee is thought to be too high for Napoli, who are looking for £42.2m, according to Corriere dello Sport.
Napoli are said to “not wait much longer” for United to beat their asking price before Garnacho starts pursuing other targets. Marcus Rashford has already been discussed as an option but the Englishman is attracting strong interest from AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund.
