Nestlé draws the boss after the relationship with the employee

Nestlé dismissed his director general after only a year in work because he did not disclose a “romantic relationship” with a “direct subordinate”
The Swiss food giant, which makes chocolate bars Kit Kat and Nespresso coffee capsules, said that Laurent Freixe had been dimulated by “immediate effect” following an investigation by the Nestlé chair and independent director.
The BBC understands that the investigation was triggered by a report carried out via the company’s denunciation chain.
The president of Nestlé, Paul Bulcke, said: “It was a necessary decision. Nestlé’s values and governance are solid foundations of our business. I thank Laurent for his years of service in Nestlé.”
The relationship was with an employee who was not part of the board of directors and the investigation began because it represented a conflict of interest, learned the BBC.
Mr. Freixe had been at Nestlé for almost 40 years, but acquired the role of head of world management last September.
Philipp Navratil was appointed successor to Mr. Freixe.
